跑馬古道公園

Paoma Historic Trail Park

温泉街として賑わうという街に長らく廃墟として放置されていた旧軍舎の広大な敷地を、公園に改修するプロジェクト。建物を新築せず、既存建物を半分以上解体することで、密度の高い街中に「都市の空白」としての公園をつくった。解体した瓦礫を埋め立てることで大きな起伏のある地形を新たにつくり、山を見たり、イベントを行ったりする市民のためのさまざまな場所をつくり出した。

This project transformed the vast grounds of a long-abandoned military barracks in a thriving hot spring town into a public park. Rather than constructing new buildings, the design approach focused on demolishing more than half of the existing structures to create an "urban void" within the dense cityscape. The demolition debris was repurposed to create an undulating topography, forming a dynamic landscape where citizens can enjoy mountain views and gather for various community events.
